No, we’re not talking about babies! Although babies are pretty special. We’re talking about drones delivering something else that’s pretty special. Well, it’s special to you if you’re a foodie like we are anyway. That so special delivery is FOOD!

Did you know that you can get food delivered by drone? Yes! In fact, there are quite a few foods and drinks you can get delivered by drone and we’re quite sure that the numbers will keep on rolling. The drone food delivery service started with tacos and burritos a few years ago and has now grown to include champagne service.

Here’s what we can look forward to with such colorful delivery:

-Pizza! – Everybody loves pizza right? Well, we love it and are super excited that Domino’s Pizza is exploring the world of pizza delivery by aerial drone. Also, there’s a pizza place in Mumbai that is testing those waters as well.

-It’s raining TACOS! – In 2011, there were two guys who created the Tacocopter which delivered tacos in the sky. And guess what? You can order from your smartphone. Yes way!

-In the mood for champagne? The Casa Madrona hotel in Sausalito, CA serves it up! How about that for luxury? Speaking of luxury, there’s a club in Las Vegas called The Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan Hotel offers bottle service, delivering your choice of booze from the sky.

-Coke for good. – Coca cola certainly couldn’t be left out of the drone delivery business. In the name of good deeds, they delivered coke to migrant construction workers in Singapore. And the best part about it is that the cans contained messages from the workers’ families. Heart warming!

-It’s a bird, it’s a plane….no, it’s a fish! – There is a London-based restaurant called YO! that tested sushi delivery by drone. First it was delivered on a conveyor belt. Now, it’s being delivered by drones.

-Got booze? – Lakemaid, a brewery based in Minnesota, launched a service to serve Ice Fisherman a nice cold one. Sadly enough for the fishermen though, the FAA grounded the aircraft, halting those operations.

-They’ve got the bomb burrito. – No, for real. It was called the burrito bomber. Who wouldn’t love aerial Mexican food delivery?

There you have it. Next time you’re in the mood for takeout, get creative and see if you can try one of these. We have a few options and I’m sure we’ll have a whole lot more to choose from in the future.

Until then, bon appetite!
